Happy Monday! Today we are going to add snow to photograph. You can use any photo, the one I am using is here
http://www.paulsportraitarts.com/dogs/h419e0dd5#h419e0dd5
Snow Textures can be found here
and here
When using textures in photoshop it is always a good idea to check the image size to be sure it matches the photo, this photo is 300 dpi.
After opening the photo it will be your "Background Layer", next open one of the snow layers on top or "Layer 1". Change the Blend Mode to Screen. At this point I would add some blur go to Filter- Blur- Gaussian Blur (about 6-8 radius), also a little motion blur can help too! Filter_Blur-Motion Blur (angle 23%distance25)
Next hit Control J to create a copy of Layer 1, click the Move tool and nudge Layer 1 Copy slightly, you may need the eraser tool to take some snow from Spots face, and to get rid of any large flakes.
You can use 2 or more snow textures, and move them, blur them, erase parts you don't like etc.....
To make the snow Pop a little more change the blend mode to Color Dodge.
And the result should look like this.......
That's all for now folks.......
Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzza and a Great Festivus!
